Austria: Graz and Vienna and Slovenia: Maribour.

October 2001 I think.

We only had one day in Graz, but I remember it was a very "idyllic" place.

Vienna was absolutly fantastic! I don't remember the hotel, but it was very close to the theater. We went to see a musical called Mozart. It was my first really musical and it was really good. Another evening we went to the "folks opera" (?) and saw "La Boheme". That was my first opera as well and to be honest, I didn't like it much. I have really tried to "widen my horizons" in my musical fields, but I have still problems with understanding opera.
The Hundertwasser Museum was... interesting... :)

Slovenia and Maribour. We staied at a luxury hotel up in the mountains. It's one of the best hotels I have ever been at. There was swimming-pool inside and outside, two tennis-courts INSIDE, SPA, etc... The breakfast was mmmmmm... we even got champagne for breakfast! When we went to Slovenia it was still very cheap to eat, drink and shopping in general. I don't know how it is now.
